That day the sun came up the horizon with a conspiracy in his mind. The conspiracy of changing our life to an extent that it will never be same again. We didn’t know that cupid will take over this first meeting of ours, SOS cafe it was, a small sparsely numbered place in the outskirts of delhi. Morning hour in the city on a weekend are generally calmer, very few people were sitting in the cafe. Much like every arranged marriage get together, there were people from both sides. Eight more people to facilitate our first meeting, every one was talking except us. It was not love at first sight for either of us. In fact It was some what forced meeting.
We saw this happening in movies but going through the same was a weird experience. I was eagerly waiting for this to get over as early as possible. Then like a ritual we were told to sit on another table all alone (Everyone peeking from corner of their eyes) so that we could understand each other better :haha.
Facing each other we sat there for a while, breaking the ice, I started blabbering, trying to tell who I was. Sometime I wonder whether I really know who I am, but to the extent I knew myself, I updated her. She was holding a coffee mug listening to me. She tore a sugar sachet, poured the content and started stirring. I continued with my story telling, trying to give her a landscape of my traits. Finishing my tale I asked her to tell me about herself. It was so brief that if I would have timed it would have been less than 30 sec.
We realised that both of us were introvert so may be talking on phone will be a better idea. We sat there for about quarter of an hour. One interesting thing was that she was still “stirring coffee in the mug.”
Maybe the truth is that we need to realise that some things are just meant to be, you and me. 🙂
