Paris > Versailles

“Just add three letters to Paris and you have Paradise.” – Jules Renard, this is not an exaggeration, if you ask me, you don’t need even those three letters if you have the right company. True to her fame Paris is like a dream come true. It is built to make you feel special, what so ever mood you may be in, her vibes resonate with you. She is a modern busy metropolis but she never let her past fade away. She may be very occupied being the capital of France yet she finds time to welcome every visitor.ย
We went to France in the autumn of 2021 just after the country re-opened for tourists amid the corona virus pandemic. We experienced that there is no place more inspiring, whether it is walking through the cobbled streets, sun basking at the neatly crafted gardens or revisiting her glorious past, France has luxury studded everywhere. Paris has so much to offer that we at least spent three times the time shortlisting places to visit than the visit itself. Every place has a profound impact on you, whether it is standing beside the Eiffel or looking at the Monalisa, every experience feels more like an accomplishment. Now I can relate why I have read so many novels written on context in and around Paris – You can’t do justice to what the place is unless you write a book on it.
From Paris we took a train to reach Versailles, We have not seen any palace which could rival to the Chรขteau de Versailles. The magnificent palace with her elaborate gardens served as home for the French royalty. I guess it can be one of the places of highest per unit luxury on the planet. Versailles is also the place where the treaty was signed to end the first world war but we could not find any thing closely related to.
Though we could not relate much to the french cuisine except for the cheesy and fruity breakfast, the idea of eating right on the street beside the chalk board displaying the undecipherable food menu seemed to be a great idea. ๐
