“You can’t buy happiness but you can go to Spain and that’s pretty much the same thing!” – Unknown. We never knew Spain can be so much fun. Spain is one such country which I have promised to myself to surely visit again. We visited two cities in Spain and we know we have not done justice to the lively culture, one of a kind architecture and the magnificent landscapes. First city we visited was Barcelona, we reached in the evening and what a lively place it is. We visited during the pandemic but there was hardly any impact. Streets were filled will locals and tourists casually walking in the streets, stores were filled with people browsing through items on sale and restaurants serving on the street itself. The air was filled with happy vibe and to our surprise the vibe never faded. It continued till the time when we finally decided to go back to our hotel.Barcelona has so much to offer to tourists, the Gothic architecture reaches its zenith in the roads and sidewalks of the city. You can be strolling casually on the streets and can be surprised by a UNESCO world heritage site designed by Gaudi. Medieval winding streets passing beside Gothic cathedrals, packed with tourists shopping at flea markets popped out the tourist sitting deep within us so we hopped on an open top tourist bus. Barcelona has this charm of amusing every traveller and if you are party lover who enjoys architectural magnificence then you will be awestruck. I had read about Antoni Gaudi and his brilliance but witnessing what he has created in his life time is unreal. No photographs can do justice to the grand yet natural structures he has created. From Barcelona we took a train to Madrid, being capital of Spain, it is quite busy. First thing we did was going to the outskirts of the city to give our RT-PCR samples. It was really difficult to find a sample collection centre during the weekend and it also costed us a fortune. Madrid was the last city on this trip before we flew back home and it happened to be an ideal place for our tired selfs. The city has multiple magnificent gardens where you can sit and relax as sun sets behind the trees. The market place was very very busy with people rushing through. One more place worth visiting is the the Royal Palace of Madrid. To our luck it started drizzling, initially we thought that it will be a huddle but then all of a sudden people started selling umbrellas on the street and the whole city was covered with colourful umbrellas.
About the food, Spanish food is spicier than rest of Europe, we especially liked the Spanish version of omelettes called Tortilla and Churros loops. Every aspect of Spain is full of happiness, if you want to shed some boredom out of your life, Spain is the place you want to go.
