If someone wants to witness all the bright fluorescent colours of nature spread together, a geo-thermal park is the place. We visited one during Dec, 2019 at Rotorua in New Zealand. The whole country is geo-thermally active and a lot is happening beneath the earth surface but at this particular location earth has smoked out few of her secrets. Fogged by sulphurous water vapours is a scene vividly painted by mother earth.
Placed at the centre of the north island, the park is an amalgamation of colourful pools, boiling mud and oozing geysers. The park has various tracks running through a spectrum of natural wonders which will take at least 3-4 hours if one wants to visit each one of them. I suggest not to skip any.
The most colourful, the brightest and my favourite is the Devil’s bath. It is place at the end of the longest track and looks bright fluorescent green, the water has PH of less than 2, sufficient enough to melt flesh away. I really loved the place except for the rotten egg smell of sulphur, it is spot where you don’t require a night stay but if you are in the north island a visit to the park is a must.
