Queenstown is no doubt the best city we visited in New Zealand, given an option to settle in any of the cities in New Zealand we will select Queenstown. The city sits beside lake Wakatipu and the southern Alps giving breath taking views of the peak between the clear blue water and the clear blue skies.
Unlike most of the regions in the South Island with their modest towns, Queenstown is an extremely happening place with an astounding variety in culture. A large student population from all over the world, adds to the youth of the city. Here you will find plenty of cafes and restaurants and in the evening you can party in the bars of the main street. In fact most of the souvenirs that we brought back to India were purchased on the buzzy streets of Queenstown.
If you want to sit back on the greens slopes, relax in the sun and breath in mother nature you must visit Queenstown during summers, but if you like adventure and winter sports you must ski down the same slopes during the winters. It is also in proximity of Te Anau and Milford Sound (A natural wonder) so when you visit Queenstown, keep atleast one and a half day spare for these two places. Queenstown is among those few places which you can visit round the year.
